New Look WordPress Website

WordPress makes managing Websites simpleMobile device access to Websites is growing very rapidly as a proportion of total visits to most Websites. Apple iPhone/iPad and Android devices in particular are driving this tend. I was amazed to read that PayPal saw ‘Black Friday global mobile payment volume increased six-fold (516%) compared to last year’.

A Change of WordPress Theme

For over a year I used the free Suffusion Theme as the face of my WordPress consulting business. I absolutely love Suffusion and have built over 20 Websites for customers using Suffusion as the base Theme. Suffusion gives all sorts of opportunities and is easy to customise but it was time for a change. Even although Suffusion isn’t (yet) responsive it is quite simple to make a WordPress Site using the Suffusion Theme responsive via the use of a Plugin.

The most significant factor in my choice of new Theme is that the Theme absolutely had to be designed to be responsive; what this means is that the Theme adapts according to screen size so that it looks great on a desktop, laptop or iPhone/Android Phone. A responsive Theme, because it is built to adapt to screen sizes, tends to works better on a multitude of devices rather than using a Plugin to create a similar outcome.

A new WordPress Theme Design

If you are reading this Post on my Website (as opposed to in a newsletter or RSS reader) you’ll be able to see the new design. The Website you are viewing looks equally good on mobile devices as well as full-width desktops (even although it displays differently on the various devices). The Theme also uses all sorts of cool HTML5 and CSS3 magic. I have to say that I absolutely love responsive themes; the mobile Web is growing rapidly and it’s great to be able to display Websites beautifully on all devices.
