Why are my Gmail emails going to Hotmail?
Why is some email intended for my Gmail powered account ending up in Hotmail?
WordPress Contact forms sent to Gmail Email
My WordPress Website has two contact forms; one by the awesome Contact Form 7 and a nifty Ajax form called Contact Dialogue (a big thank you to James the Plugin developer for his assistance!). Once a visitor submits a contact form on my WordPress Website, an email is sent to my email address which is hosted by Google Apps/Gmail with the details from the contact form.
All worked a treat until recently.
The Gmail/Hotmail Problem
The email gods are obviously not happy; for some bizarre reason, emails sent by any of the contact forms on my Website to my Gmail powered email address are landing up in my Hotmail account and are not appearing in my Gmail account and I cannot figure out what is going on!
I have gone into my Google Apps/Gmail settings and have checked and there are no filters enabled nor any forwarding. In Hotmail there are no rules in place and I have even checked my DNS hosting to ensure there is nothing weird there.
The Solution
Here is the bad news; I just do not know why some of my emails are mysteriously appearing in my Hotmail account. It is one of the weirdest problems I have come across in ages and I am not alone with this issue (perform a Google or Bing search for this issue).
